Students across Surrey find out their A-level and BTEC results today, after a nerve-wracking wait. With exams unable to be held this year due to Covid-19, students have faced even greater uncertainty. We pay tribute to all students who have put in so much hard work, along with their teachers and schools.
Many students have received grades which reflect or were close to those predicted. Some students may have had very unexpected results today and will feel unhappy with these results and concerned about their future. For those who wish to improve their grades they will be able to take their exams in the Autumn. A smaller number of students have been more negatively affected by the assessment arrangements this year. Where students feel they have not been awarded a fair approximation of their expected results, schools and colleges will be able to request a review of grades. We advise that you speak to your school or college for advice and support in the first instance, advice can be found here https://www.gov.uk/appeal-qualification-result
It is an anxious and uncertain time for some students. Free, anonymous help and support for coping with results is also available at kooth.com. https://www.kooth.com/
