The British Conservative Party is often described as the world’s most successful political party. The Conservatives have dominated UK politics in the 19th, 20th and, so far, the 21st centuries.
The Guildford Conservative Association also has a long tradition of serving the citizens of Guildford. In terms of national representation Angela Richardson was our most recent MP, in office from 2019-2024.
Prior to Angela, Anne Milton represented the constituency from 2005 until 2019. And before that the Conservative Party had an almost unbroken term of serving the community going back nearly 100 years.
We are also active locally with elected members as Guildford Borough Councillors, including the Mayor of Guildford, Surrey County Councillors and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey.
At the last general election, in July 2024, we were disappointed to lose our MP. But as a party that listens and learns we are already rebuilding based on our principles of personal responsibility, a belief in individuals and families and tradition, and being pro-business to support growth. And with the election in November 2024 of our new party leader Kemi Badenoch, we will continue to advocate our Conservative values, and in anticipation of future elections, hold current elected local and national officials from other parties to account.
