Guildford and Cranleigh Conservatives have selected local campaigner Liz Townsend to fight the Cranleigh West by-election on Wednesday, 21 December.
The by-election was called following the sad death of long-standing and dedicated Councillor Brian Ellis, who gave selfless service to Cranleigh over many years.
Liz Townsend has lived in the village for 25 years and is known for her campaigning for Cranleigh Rugby Club and most recently as a founder of Cranleigh Civic Society, among many other voluntary pursuits.
Liz said: "I am honoured to have been selected as the Conservative candidate in this by-election; I hope to continue with strong representation for Cranleigh."
