Ahead of the next EU debate (Guildford Baptist Church, 9 June) chaired by Anne Milton, Guildford’s MP, Anne said:
“I am delighted that there has been so much interest not just for the debates themselves but also around the town. Everywhere I have gone over the last few weeks it’s the top topic of conversation. I have been particularly pleased that it has captured the thoughts of people who have said they are not normally that interested in politics. At cooking classes for parents, in the hairdressers and even on the dentist’s couch, it’s the thing everyone is asking me about. Cranleigh Chambers of Commerce kicked off the debates, hotly followed by Cranleigh School with a huge audience of local school pupils along with some of the public. This was then followed by the University of Surrey with Minister Anna Soubry and Douglas Carswell UKIP MP. The Surrey University debate is available on YouTube to watch online if you want to warm up for next week’s debate! Do come along next week. There will plenty of opportunity to not only hear from the speakers but to make sure they hear from you and answer your questions about what it will mean to remain in or leave the EU.”
There is a final debate for the Guildford Business Community on Thursday 16 June, 8:00-9:30am at G Live. The event on 16 June is for registered guests only.
