Anne Milton, MP for Guildford, has written to the Managing Director of BT’s Next Generation Access group and to the Leader of Surrey County Council, following an announcement that despite 97% of Surrey being connected to broadband some are still left out. There is a small but frustrated group of businesses and constituents who remain in ‘not spots’ who were left out of the Superfast scheme.
Anne said: “It’s salt in the wound for some of the people in Cranleigh and Guildford who have been left out of the success of the Superfast broadband scheme. I applaud BT and Surrey County Council for their achievements so far however more needs to be done. Some of those that were going to be part of BT’s commercial roll-out have now been left out of the connection.
She added: "This is tough on the residents, schools and businesses who have been left out. I am hoping that BT and Surrey County Council will now be able to work together to make to get 100% connection for all!”
