Conservatives at Surrey County Council have allocated more money than ever towards fixing roads and footpaths across our area. In total, over £300m will be spent across Surrey repairing our roads and footpaths by 2028. In our area, we have recently seen schemes carried out on Epsom Road, Falcon Road, Upper Edgeborough Road, Halfpenny Lane and Eagle Road, with London Road, Tangier Road, One Tree Hill Road, Collingwood Crescent and more being considered for future repairs. Conservative candidate for Guildford South East, Alex Fiuza, said “The state of our roads and pavements has been brought up by residents on the doorstep time and again, affecting drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. I understand, and I agree, which is why fixing our roads and pavements is one of my top priorities. “The funding secured by Surrey County Council is great news for our County, and I will focus on ensuring Guildford South East gets its fair share of this funding.”
