Local MP, Anne Milton, led runners out of the blocks on Sunday on her bike at Guildford “Race for Life” at Surrey Sports Park.
Hundreds of runners took part on a beautiful day to raise much needed funds for cancer research.
Anne said: "my running days are over so it was great to be able to do something to help the volunteers who make the Race for Life such a brilliant event. The lead bike signals to all the race marshals that the runners are on their way. It was wonderful to see so many people from different generations coming together to complete the 5k course and all with different stories about how cancer has affected their lives. For many it was quite an emotional day but the support for everyone - whether walking or running was great."
