Stoke

Your local Conservative candidates for Stoke ward are Samuel Tough, Brett Vorley and Stuart Zissman.

Samuel Tough:

Guildford has been my home for all 18 years of my life.

After serving as a cadet to the Surrey Lieutenancy, leading my college’s Student Union and working for a local charity in Guildford, I have got to know our community well. It would be an enormous privilege to represent it.

As one of the youngest candidates at this election, I could provide a fresh perspective at Millmead. If elected, my top priority would be to make the necessary progress on social housing, where the current council administration has failed. I would advocate for sustainable and low-rise developments that provide affordable housing and protect our town’s historic character.

I have seen our community in action and know the struggles that families face. My other priorities to keep council tax low and slash parking charges would reduce the burden on families and businesses in Stoke and allow them to thrive.

Stuart Zissman:

Stuart has lived in Guildford since gaining a Batchelor of Engineering from the University of Surrey in 1993. Married to Anita for 28 years and with 3 daughters who all attended Christ’s College secondary school where he has served as a School Governor and more recently Chair since 2010.

As a Guildford resident of over 30 years, keen cyclist and walker Stuart is strongly protective of the local green spaces and the integrity of the town and surrounding area and wants to ensure that any further development of the borough is undertaken for the benefit of the residents of Guildford whilst protecting the beauty of the area.

A strong advocate of our local schools and education, Stuart is keen to ensure the schools and colleges serving our next generation are looked after to ensure we all continue to thrive for years to come.
