Conservatives have won the county council by-election held on Thursday 3rd May for the county division of Worplesdon, which covers Worplesdon, Normandy and Pirbright.
The winning candidate, Keith Witham, thanked all the voters for their support at the ballot box and looked forward to starting the new role.
The new Conservative County Councillor said: "I felt humbled by the support given to me by so many people, resulting in over 2,000 votes and a majority larger than either of my predecessors. I will be a strong voice for all the local communities I have been elected to represent in Guildford; Broadacres and Westborough; Fairlands; Jacobs Well; Normandy; Pirbright; Wood Street Village and Worplesdon. Thank you to everyone who voted and supported"
