This Thursday (3rd May) sees a county council by-election in the division of Worplesdon, which covers Jacobs Well, Normandy, Pirbright, Wood Street Village and Worplesdon. Conservative candidate, Keith Witham, has published his manifesto outlining his pledges:
- for better road safety in all our local areas,
- to protect the Green Belt from further developments for tough Council action to remove illegal gypsy encampments and establish more registered sites for genuine travellers,
- for better protection and support for Park Home residents, particularly against unscrupulous site owners,
- for action to prevent future flooding in Pirbright, Jacobs Well, Normandy and Wood Street Village,
- for protection of our heathlands and valued open spaces,
- to scrutinise on your behalf how the County Council spends our Council Tax and to ensure we get value for money,
- to work with Surrey police, particularly when there is an elected Police Commissioner for Surrey later this year,
- And finally - Keith will be an effective County Councillor ensuring that your views are fully represented.
