Anne Milton, MP for Guildford, has thanked local charity trustees for their dedicated work in running local charities, and highlighted the benefits of becoming a charity trustee in the run-up to this year’s national Trustees’ Week which runs from 31 October to 6 November 2011.
In Guildford alone there are over 460 charities. Trustees’ Week raises awareness of how people can benefit themselves by becoming trustees to charities, through gaining valuable experience and skills.
Commenting on the week, Anne Milton, Member of Parliament for Guildford, said: We have fantastic local charities in Guildford doing really important work that wouldn’t be able to function without their trustees. As we approach national Trustees’ Week I want to pay tribute to their tireless work. I would also encourage people to consider becoming a trustee. It is a great way of learning new skills and getting valuable experience. Lots of charities need trustees who will help them achieve their goals, so it really is a win-win situation."
