A children’s hospice in Guildford is to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The volunteers of the charity CHASE were one of 130 winners selected from 413 groups nominated by members of the public who had been helped personally or witnessed benefits of the charities work.
CHASE will receive a certificate signed by the Queen and a commemorative crystal presented by the Queen’s Surrey representative, Lord Lieutenant Sarah Goad, at a special ceremony in July.
Speaking about the award Anne Milton MP said: "The work volunteers do continues to amaze me and those at CHASE have got the recognition they deserve. They should be very proud with what they have achieved and I have nothing but the upmost respect for the work that they do. Christopher’s in a local treasure – much loved, much appreciated and much supported by local people."
