Anne Milton MP for Guildford is supporting Catch22 Surrey in their search for 60 Year 11 students to take part in National Citizen Service. This exciting government program has been set up for 16 year olds to help them to progress in work or education, and to get more involved with their local community.
The program will take place for three weeks during August. The first week is a week away at an outdoor activities camp which involves plenty of exciting challenges. In the second week participants stay local and get stuck into a number of ‘The Apprentice’ style challenges so Year 11s can develop their management skills. In the final week students get involved in a project that is important to them within their local community.
Anne Milton, Member of Parliament for Guildford, is encouraging young people to get involved. She said: “This exciting mixture of outdoor activities, project management skills and local community action provides young people with the opportunity and support to take on new challenges learn new skills and make a difference. It is a wonderful opportunity for year 11 students so get involved if you can!”
