Burpham

Your local Conservative candidates for Burpham ward are Adam Heilbron and Christian Holliday.

Adam Heilbron:

Adam is 23 years old and a lifelong resident of Burpham. Raised and educated in the local area, Adam lives in Weylea Farm with his family.

In recent years, Adam has become concerned that the Lib Dem led Council has failed to deliver for Burpham residents and his priority is to restore a good service for them. Adam supports the positive Conservative vision of freezing Council Tax, restoring local services and supporting our community and town centre.

Having worked for our hardworking MP Angela Richardson over the past 2 years, Adam already has a grasp of the issues that are affecting Burpham and will work diligently alongside residents, local community groups, other councillors and our MP to achieve the best outcomes for the community.

Christian Holliday:

Christian lives in Burpham with his wife Tammy. He has previously represented Burpham as Borough Councillor between 2011 and 2019. He is a Chartered Town Planner, working on renewable energy projects, including hydrogen and solar schemes nationwide. He takes a keen interest in local planning matters and has been an active member of the Burpham Neighbourhood Forum.

Christian is concerned by the decline in service provision at Guildford Borough Council in the last four years and will work to restore basic levels of service provision, including re-opening Sutherland Memorial Hall in Burpham to new bookings. He wants to review wasteful major development projects, which often incur millions of pounds of overspend, yet deliver little.  Christian also wants to introduce a flat rate parking charge of £1 an hour in the town centre and will oppose the introduction of a congestion charge, which would damage the town centre.
